Drivers approaching from Murcia should first take the motorway towards Lorca and Andalucía, and then exit onto the Autovía del Noroeste-Río Mula, which leads to Caravaca de la Cruz. Another alternative is to follow the motorway towards Albacete and Madrid as far as the Venta del Olivo, before heading to Calasparra and then Caravaca de la Cruz.
For those coming from Madrid and Albacete, the best route is again to follow the A-3 and A-30 motorways towards Murcia as far as the Venta del Olivo as before, before heading to Calasparra and then Caravaca de la Cruz on the RM-714.
This stretch is shorter and the road is in good condition.
From Andalucía the easiest route is on the rural C-3211 road which runs from Lorca to Caravaca via a series of outlying districts, or the C-330 via Barranda and El Moral.
Visitors also arrive from the towns of the Sierra del Segura, either along the C-415 from Moratalla or the C-3314 from Calasparra: the two options are roughly the same distance.
Of course, not everyone has a car at their disposal, and public transport is also a possibility. The bus station enjoys a central location in the town, and there are regular services to and from various destinations
