River Beaches

Segura River

In the Valle del Ricote (valley) the Segura River features some great swimming areas at the Playa del Arenal and the Embarcadero del Club de Piragüismo (Kayaking Club), both in Blanca; and the beach of El Parque de El Jarral, in Abarán.

In Cieza, the best options are the Fuente de El Gorgotón, across from Cañón de Almadenes Interpretation Centre; and Hoya García, next to the dam.

In Calasparra your best bet is to swim at the beaches that the Segura has carved out near the beautiful Santuario de la Esperanza (Sanctuary of Hope), under the cover of green branches and riverside trees.

Other River Beaches

In Bullas there is the gorgeous Salto del Usero and El Pasico Ucenda swimming holes, two of the most emblematic and popular places in the Northwest to take a dip.

Moratalla offers another classic spot for inland swimming: the Alhárabe River. We recommend accessing it via the Camping La Puerta campgrounds, or head for the Somogil hot springs, especially in spring or autumn.

Another of the most popular river spots in the Region is Fuente Caputa, in the district of Yéchar, perfect to enjoy an outdoor swim.

In Coy, in the town limits of Lorca, at the site known as La Fuente (The Fountain) you will find an artificial beach with barbecues, leisure areas and even straw umbrellas.
