Information

The Calblanque Monte de las Cenizas and Peña del Águila Regional Park covers about 2,800 ha. And it is located at the eastern end of the coast of the Region of Murcia, between Portmán and Cabo de Palos. In this protected area you will find beaches, forests, bushes, boulevards or cliffs. This great variety of environments enables numerous species of fauna and flora to inhabit, some of them highly exclusive or threatened, such as the Cartagena cypress, the Cartagena rockrose, the fartet or the Bonelli's eagle. It also highlights its geological diversity and its historical heritage, since it treasures elements such as the military battery of the Ashes or the Roman Road. Without forgetting its cultural wealth, as it preserves elements that reveal its salt, agricultural or mining tradition. The PR-MU1 Small Tour trail will lead you through the different landscapes, natural and cultural elements that make up the environment of Cabezo de la Fuente. The beginning of the route passes through areas of ancient crops and typically Mediterranean scrub. The path passes by the Fuente Grande, a place highlighted by its walls of dolomites, and later on it runs parallel to the coastline to the Negrete beach car park. The route continues to the Mirador de Playa Larga, where you can contemplate a beautiful landscape, before ascending back to the starting point. During your visit do not forget: - Walk along the authorized footbridges or paths. - Carry your pet tied. Municipal regulations do not allow their presence on beaches.
