San Blas neighborhood is located between San Javier and Santiago de la Ribera, next to the area known as La Calavera. The original hermitage which gives its name to the neighborhood, dates back to the 16th century and is located within the premises of an old manorhouse. Among the pine forests, we can admire other houses, such as Torre Garcia, form the 17th-18th centuries, or Benimar, form 1910, built in the Neo-Mudéjar style.
Next to the modern development of single-family homes, we find the new hermitage dedicated to San Blas, where an annual pilgrimage is held, decalred of Regional Tourist Interest, attracting thousands of people form across the region. The extensive pine forest next to the hermitage serves as a meeting place for groups who prepare all kinds of rice dishes every February 3rd.
