Xi Ruta de las Iglesias

The traditional sporting event will take place on the 10th of May at 8:30 pm and will consist of three modalities:

- 5 kilometres of walking

- 5 kilometres of urban running

- 10 kilometres of urban running

All the races will take place along a 5 kilometre urban route which passes through the main civil and ecclesiastical buildings of the municipality, making this race one of the most unique and attractive in the Region of Murcia. The route, which runs through the old quarter of Cehegín, is one of the main attractions of the event.

As is tradition, children 's races will also be held under the name of Mini-Ruta de las Iglesias, which will run along the Gran Vía de Cehegín and will be especially aimed at the youngest runners.

The event will have the collaboration of various local entities. The association BETANIA will participate with a group of volunteers and an information stand in the finish area, where they will distribute leaflets and promotional material. AFEMNOR has also offered its collaboration with the contribution of volunteers.

The organisers have also been in contact with Tomás Noguerol, president of the Brotherhood of the Virgen de las Maravillas, to give visibility to the events planned for the Jubilee Year and the 300th anniversary of the arrival of the image in the municipality.

Runners and walkers were encouraged to register through the website www.alcanzatumeta.es, stressing that both the race and its surroundings ‘are worthwhile’ and finally, as every year, the work of the designer JAIME AZNAR FERNANDEZ in creating the poster was praised.
