New Life Residency, 2010
As part of Manifesta 8, Wooloo will run the world's first non-visual residency program for artists. For one week, five selected artists will each live and work in a dark, visually distorted exhibition space. To support the resident in her/his life and work during this week, each artist will collaborate with a local Murcian guide who is visually impaired. In cooperation with her/his guide, the artist will use the one-week residency to create a tour of the non-visual space as part of the experience in which she is living. On the last day of each residency, the blacked-out space will be open to visitors, in the form of a guided tour. With the participation of: Matthias Neumann, Clarinda Mac Low, Helidon Gjergji, Pedro Guirao y Gema Álava.

Wooloo
Founded in 2002.
Sixten Kai Nielsen (1978) and Martin Rosengaard (1979), Denmark. Live and work in Copenhagen and New York. Wooloo is a networked artist group operating through the online community www.wooloo.org. Mixing digital communication with physical participation, Wooloo has developed a working method based on the advocacy of collectivity. While the Wooloo website currently connects the resources of more than 13,000 cultural producers in 140 countries, the group's various projects function as social experiments in direct collectivism. Recently, Wooloo organised accommodation for three thousand activists in private homes during the UN climate change summit in Copenhagen. Supplying the infrastructure for visitors to come and voice their opinion -and for strangers to share their homes and experiences- the Wooloo project was a large-scale exercise in communal co-operation.
