Sung Hwan Kim's work often includes personal memories, vague rumours and dream-like associations that manifest in a reality closer to fantasy and imagination than to truth. In his recent film, which was shot in New York, young people sing absurd prophecies, both alone and in chorus. The arranged scenes are interrupted with footage of Hispanic workers moving shards of translucent plastic in front of their faces, and an excerpt from Barack Obam's inauguration speech, full of promises.
