The Region of Murcia, an area of 11,300 km² situated within the Mediterranean Arc, offers culture and events, as well as congresses, leisure, typical cuisine and adventure. This region has some of Levante’s most extraordinary beaches and coves, located in either of two seas: the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean, which are separated by a strip of land called La Manga. Being an enclave between two seas, this place is ideal to practice sea sports. Here, distances are small, the climate is always mild -315 sunny days a year and average temperature of 19ºC-, and the varied relief creates innumerable landscapes.

The region’s big populated areas hoard a rich cultural and archaeological heritage. Important symbols are Santa María Cathedral in Murcia, the Roman Theatre Museum in Cartagena, the Fortress of the Sun in Lorca and the Basilica in Caravaca de la Cruz, the city which has the privilege of celebrating the Holy Year every 7 years.

The Region of Murcia also stands out for being the venue for the Estrella Levante SOS 4.8 Festival, the San Javier International Jazz Festival, the Tres Culturas Festival in Murcia, the La Mar de Músicas Festival in Cartagena and the Cante de las Minas de La Unión Festival. In this locality, a visit to the Parque minero de La Unión -a spectacular 50,000 m² complex- is a must.

Another relevant proposal is nature and adventure tourism. Climbing, hiking, enjoying the scenery, paragliding over the central mountain ranges, going down the rivers and spelunking are only some examples of a list of many different possibilities. Moreover, the land of the Region of Murcia offers visitors several places where the water becomes a source of health and well-being. Balnearios, thalassotherapy centres and spas can be found throughout the coast and the interior; all of them provide clients with both relaxing and sophisticated treatments.

In addition, the Region of Murcia has grown in the last few years to currently become Europe’s new golf destination; it counts on first quality complexes offering all kinds of services, such as accommodation, restaurants, sports areas, spas, retailing and schools. Golf lovers will find here 21 high level golf courses, located within a 50 km radius, and comprising 348 holes of all levels.
